The Price of Profit

George Cloutier is a Harvard grad that Business Week dubbed a “Turnaround Ace” and his focus has always been on small business. Actually, you may not even need to hire him, just read his national best-selling book called Profits Aren’t Everything, They’re the Only Thing. The book includes “The 15 Rules” that George Cloutier’s consulting firm has used to turn small businesses on life support into profit-making machines.

National Exposure

Some friends of mine got published in major magazines and my “green-eyed” monster reared his ugly head. Thankfully, I’m evolved enough to hide it and move on.

Exciting, isn’t it? Getting national and even international exposure for something you’re passionate about. The real jazz to it, is that somebody else is holding you up as being “good” at what you do. Your friends, family, customers and acquaintances have been telling you for years, but now, a magazine comes to confirm it!

Yikes! What will I wear on the photo shoot? Should I use product in my hair?

Google Live

Folks from Google made a stop in KC today to celebrate Small Biz Week. They hosted events in four “entrepreneurial cities” across the US including Washington DC, Charlotte, NC and Phoenix. They commandeered the outdoor living room at KC Live and served the requisite Barbeque…from a chain.
